This week I received a special gift. Relearning a previous lesson of being awake and not distracted. Have you ever had a head cold where you were so congested that you could hardly breathe, couldn’t hear and could concentrate on very little? Well, mental congestion can cause you to feel the same way. There is so much clutter you can hardly think, not to mention, follow your inner compass. Explore this week’s article, “Can You Hear Me Now?” to learn more.
Oliver Wendell Holmes expressed that, “Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.” The great thing about increasing your level of consciousness is that it cannot go back to its original shape. Likewise once you are awake it is practically impossible to lose consciousness and return back to your original state. You may doze a little, nod or even go to sleep for a few hours. But it is highly unlikely that you will revert back to your old way of thinking. So if we are awake, what could possibly cause us to drift off? Communication overload or mental congestion.
