| Biography: |
Sarah Sherwood is a 42 year-old New Yorker and mother of five who lives a large, creative, intuitive life, deeply connected to her family and far flung community. A woman of passion, empathy, optimism, curiosity and energy, Sarah has been keenly interested in how to optimize happiness all her life.
Providing balance and keeping extremely fit have been essential factors in her successful partnership of 20 years with her husband, Chris Mulligan, who is an entrepreneurial investment banker, Ironman triathlete and writer of children's stories.
Sarah has traded foreign exchange options, was COO of a momentarily spectacular software development company and has been a freelance writer for a variety of high-tech, PR and marketing companies.
Before motherhood, Sarah enjoyed driving fast motorcycles, water-skiing and sky- and scuba-diving. Bikram yoga, pilates and weight training now constitute the core of her fitness regime.
As an artist, Sarah sells her photography in galleries in both SW England and on Shelter Island, NY, in addition to having her writing published in several small magazines.
In typical style, Sarah gave birth to 5 children in 7 years, during which time she actively encouraged her husband to join a risky start-up and coached him through their unforgettable ride on the dot-com rollercoaster.
After the bubble burst and the towers fell, the Sherwood/Mulligan team regrouped and hatched a plan for a yearlong sabbatical abroad where Sarah would write and Chris would fulfill his lifelong dream of building a wooden boat.
And that's just what they did.
Sarah "Sherwood/Mulligan Adventure Newsletter" chronicled the family's magical adventures during what turned out to be two years of living and falling in love with a tiny seaside village in SW England. These newsletters form the basis of the novel on which she is currently working.
While Chris commuted back and forth to the States during their second year in England to found another start-up, Sarah trained and launched her professional coaching practice, Not a Dress Rehearsal, working with a small number of highly motivated individuals especially keen to take their lives to the next level.
Sarah currently divides her time between Shelter Island and Manhattan.
