About My Practice

Just notes about what's working for me, maybe questions I may have or ideas that I am trying. I'd really like to get some interaction going on this blog and have it be used for mutual growth.

Need help with your marketing?

I've learned a lot about blogging over the last month. I joined the blogboost challenge and it's been really helpful. The challenge is to write a blog post for every day in October. The discipline has been helpful to me. I've also started to make some friends in the blogosphere and learned a lot about marketing blogs on twitter and other tools. Blogging has lots of advantages-one of them is really ramping up your learning curve as you look for helpful information for your readers. Check out the latest marketing tips on transformation.swiftlysoar.com. You'll find great articles with hints on article marketing and using referrals to build your practice. I plan to continue to bring you the BEST marketing tips out there.

Upcoming plans for Soar Coaching and Consulting LLC include presenting a short worksohp to an advanced Toastmasters club on November 11 in preparation for a public workshop that is underdevelopment. I am working on a series of workshops based on my SOAR coaching model. This will be the backbone of my marketing plan for my three niches: mid-life career changers (especially new business owners), life coaches looking to rev up their practice, and Christian leaders in outreach mission. How's it going for you? What great ideas would YOU like to share? Is there anything that I can help you with?

Coach Your Employees to Excellence!

I became interested in motivating employees using coaching skills when I joined Toastmasters. I noticed that the members were able to give each other constructive feedback that resulted in increased motivation and greater skill. What's the secret to giving feedback like that? Toastmasters use the same skills developed by professional coaches to encourage positive change and growth. They have a sincere desire to help each other improve, they listen closely, and they remember to note the positive as well as areas needing improvement. This creates an environment where it is safe to stretch past your current skills and grow to your full potential.

A professional coach has been trained in the use of coaching models to ensure that clients identify and address all facets of an issue. These models are intended to help the client identify the issues they face, become aware of where they are now, form a vision for their future, and strategize to achieve that vision. The client is responsible for setting the goals, determining what action steps are appropriate, and taking the steps. The coach supports the client and holds them accountable.
